Line balance plays a key role in manufacturing production management.Being established on the premise of constraint conditions,a series of unit operation with priority assigned to a certain number of workstations,which makes operation time as balance as possible between the workstations,so as to realize the balance of the production line.The Line Balance can maximize the production efficiency,improve the productivity level,reduce the backlog of work-in-process,eliminate the waste to the greatest extent,gain the core competitiveness and increase the benefit for the enterprise.Based on the research of the Line Balance problem at home and abroad in recent years,on the basis of the traditional industrial engineering method is put forward combined with improved genetic algorithm,which is used for optimization of the second line balance problem solving,applying the method in actual production and obtaining remarkable results.Firstly,this paper explains the problem of Line Balance,Industrial Engineering method and Genetic Algorithm.Based on this theory,the present situation of H company's early education robot production line is analyzed.The research follows the method of industrial engineering to obtain the raw data.Secondly,with the adoption of traditional industrial engineering methods to make preliminary improvements to the whole production operation of the production line and the work content of some segments,the line balance rate was improved to more than 70%.However,considering too many operation units in this production line,it has some limitations to use traditional industrial engineering methods for further improvement,so an modified genetic algorithm is proposed to optimize the production line.In this paper,MATLAB software is applied to program the modified genetic algorithm,and the classical line balancing problem is taken as an example to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.The results show that this algorithm achieved excellent effect on the solution of the second type of production line balance problem,a relatively good production line balance rate and smoothness index could be obtained to enable the workload of the entire production line to reach a balanced level.Finally,we optimized and simulated the balance problem of the early education robot production line.On the ground of the obtained program simulation and optimization results,taking the actual operation situation on the spot into consideration,we manually adjusted the improved plan,and attained the final production line balance improvement plan.At this point,the production line balance rate was raised to 96.48%.In addition,we conducted analysis and evaluation of the production status before and after the balance improvement from the aspects of production line balance rate and smoothness index.In summary,this paper applies the traditional industrial engineering method and improved genetic algorithm to optimize the research the production line balancing problem of H company's early education robot.The results show that the research has achieved good effect on improving the balance rate of the production line,balancing the work load of each workstation,optimizing production efficiency and enterprise competitiveness and other aspects.
