In the past,when we watched videos,we were constrained by a fixed time and scene.With a mobile phone,we can watch videos on the subway,on the dining table,etc.With the improvement of mobile phone performance and the reduction of data rates,users can rest assured to watch videos with confidence.In 2016,short video outbreaks concentrated in China,and now there are short video platforms such as Douyin,Kuaishou,Watermelon Video,and Meipai in the market.The short video medium allows us to see the farther world and focus on more colorful people.It seems that all the worries can be temporarily forgotten since the light and fun short videos appear in our lives.However,when short videos give people full relaxation,they also bring us some negative effects.Based on the theory of media environment's communication bias,this article analyzes the material attributes and symbolic characteristics of short video media,and then draws three types of short video media:short-term media is space-oriented;In the medium,short video media tend to be emotional;in the communication relationship bias,short video media tend to be interactive.The author used the content analysis method to demonstrate the emotional bias of short video media.Taking the representative Douyin as an example,a simple random sampling method was used to select 297 samples for research.It was concluded that the short video medium has an emotional bias and the conclusion that the proportion of funny content is the largest.The author also analyzes their impact according to the bias of short video media,and believes that short videos not only provide a platform for entertainment and socialization,but also change people's viewing habits,social ways and thinking modes in a subtle way.The media environment school upholds a balanced view.Therefore,at the end of the thesis,the author puts forward suggestions on some imbalances in short videos from four aspects:policy,platform,users,and technology.
