The "ugliness" studied in my thesis refers to the content that does not have the quality of "beauty" from its performance to its essence,which is often called "vulgarity and ugliness"."These contents have a negative impact on the viewer's mental state,emotion and even action,such as negative distortion,blurring of traditional values and misinterpretation of gender consciousness,which will disturb the order of the Internet and social life to a certain extent.It is rooted in the stimulation and experience of ugliness,not the ugliness for the purpose of achieving "beauty".What is more,new media technologies,especially short video platforms,have been used to the fullest extent,accelerating the spread of ugly content,and the problem of using ugliness as beauty and not distinguishing between beauty and ugliness,leading to information content with distorted values such as vulgarity,vulgarity and vulgarity.As the research object of "ugly content" and the platform of ugly propagation,the author selects four new media platforms,namely,Douyin,Weibo,B station and People's Daily APP,and selects several "network ugly characters" with a large number of followers and peak popularity,based on the ugly phenomenon in the short video environment.The content analysis method is used to visually present the content preference of the online audience,the spread of ugliness in the interactive area and the corresponding value tendency,and its impact on the social opinion environment.By analyzing the audience's psychology of ugliness,I grasp the audience's psychology of ugliness from four aspects: the audience's psychological motivation system,the audience's psychological system of choice,the audience's theory of acceptance and the audience's psychological reaction theory.In summary,the author proposes communication governance from two perspectives: self-regulation and other-regulation on the dissemination of ugly content and audience ugliness.Then,I argue the necessity and urgency of management,and propose corresponding measures to solve the problem from the legal perspective,such as building the last line of defense of network environment governance,improving technical monitoring means,and cooperating with administrative supervision.
