| The influence of visual factors in communication activities is universal,which is complementary to the content of communication.With the rapid development of science and technology and the arrival of the era of big data,data journalism has emerged as a new force,and journalism has shown unprecedented impact and vitality.As an indispensable presentation means of data journalism,visual narrative mode enriches and expands the content and presentation mode of news production.As a new form of news,data journalism supported by big data and based on visualization means still has a lot of "knowledge" worth discussing in many aspects.In terms of data journalism theory,it is found that since the rise of data journalism in China,Chinese scholars have not done enough research on the concept of visual narration of data journalism.Many researches are one-sided,focusing on the "visibility" of data journalism while ignoring the importance of "narration" of data journalism.On the other hand,there is no clear professional standard in the field of data journalism in China,and researchers and practitioners often have a vague concept of data journalism,resulting in the lack of credibility and professional value of data journalism products in China and the loss of certain competitive advantages.At the practical level of data journalism,the research finds that the types of data journalism products in China are becoming more and more abundant,the number of works is increasing year by year,and the visualization effect is getting better and better.However,while rejoicing in the achievements of China's data journalism,many problems of data journalism visualization should not be underestimated.In order to pursue visualization effect,many data journalism tends to pursue the beauty and vividness of news at the expense of the essence,while ignoring the fact that data serves news rather than data news,which leads to the overflow and abuse of data journalism.Based on the empirical study of domestic and foreign data journalism products,this paper analyzes the merits and defects of these data journalism works in the visual narrative level.This paper argues that the merits and demerits of data journalism works in visual narrative level can be examined from five aspects :(1)the satisfaction degree of visual narrative concept;(2)the appropriateness of visual expression forms;(3)the clarity of visual narrative logic structure and context;(4)the rationality of data selection,focus and meaning expansion;(5)the influence of the assignment and retention of the narrative subject on the communication effect.Therefore,it is a wise move to develop good data journalism with the narrative concept of "form is gold,content is king" and the perfect combination of visual presentation and news narration,even when information processing technology changes with each passing day and audiences' demands for reading and listening are constantly changing. |
