In late 2019,Corona Virus Disease 2019,which is COVID-19 broke out in Wuhan and became a major public health emergency.Real-time maps of the epidemic, which show the changes in the number of confirmed and fatal cases, have made the convenience and simplicity of data journalism accessible to the public, leading to an increase in the number of data journalism reports. The number of positive cases is changing in every data news column. The development of the epidemic in different regions: the government prevention and control measures including city lockdown, community prevention and control, and compartment hospital, the research progress of novel coronavirus and vaccine, popular science knowledge of coronavirus and its self-protection,the impact of the epidemic on national economy and people's livelihood, and mourning for people from all walks of life who died due to COVID-19,etc.,were reported by data news.At first, the academic research on data journalism focused on reporting practice.Later, scholars discovered the differences between data journalism and traditional news narrative after researching, and then began to study data journalism from the perspective of narratology. However, due to the small amount of outbreaks of public health emergencies, the narrative research is also inadequate. Therefore, this paper takes the outbreak of COVID-19 as an opportunity to study its data journalism narrative, summarizing its existing problems and providing inspiration for the data journalism narrative of similar public health emergencies. This paper adopts the text analysis, content analysis and questionnaire investigation method in domestic news six representative data from January 20,2020 to January 20,2021 published during the period of all COVID-19 news report data as the research object,on the basis of Chun He's news narrative theories, from the narrator and narrative perspective, narrative themes and narrative time, visual narrative discourse and accept four parts of COVID-19 news narrative data for research. In the study of narrators and narrative perspectives, this paper draws on the definition and classification of famous scholars to analyze the narrators and the perspectives of COVID-19.In terms of narrative theme and narrative time, this paper conducts coding analysis on the narrative theme of COVID-19 and counts the situation of narrative time.In the visual narrative discourse, this paper studies the visual narrative discourse of time, space, social network, data relationship, interaction and other categories and the main discourse forms. In the narrative acceptance,it investigates the basic situation, acceptance expectation and acceptance satisfaction of COVID-19 data news users in the way of questionnaire. At the same time,it adds the excellent COVID-19 data news cases published by foreign data news column in the same period,in order to make a comparative analysis in the chapter of questions and revelation.Through four parts of the study, this paper found the shortcomings in COVID-19 data news narrative, and also the experience that can be used for similar public health emergencies data news reporting narrative. On the one hand,it is necessary to overcome the excessive proportion of public narrators in COVID-19 data news narrative, which affects the objectivity of news narrative. On the one hand,it should overcome COVID-19 news narrative data open narrator proportion is too large to affect the objectivity of news narrative, and it lacks Syria's reports. The distribution of narrative themes is uneven, the time and space visual narrative discourse is concentrated and monotonous in form, the degree of acceptance needs to be improved, and the narrative principles of authenticity and timeliness need to be strengthened. On the other hand,it should keep its narrative perspectives and themes diverse.Innovative use of interactive visual narrative discourse represented by the form of game data news discourse and following the principles of openness and open data journalism narrative.
