Popular science reading promotion,as a part of reading promotion,has been in full swing in recent years and is deeply loved by readers.Nevertheless,the current research on popular science reading promotion activities mainly focuses on the surface data and stays at the stage of defining concepts and summarizing cases.There is a lack of comprehensive and overall analysis of the activities,and even fewer people carry out investigation and research on the activities from the perspective of readers.In order to solve the above problems,this paper takes the popularization of popular science reading activities of public libraries as the research object,conducts a holistic analysis on them,introduces the theory of perceived value,evaluates the popularization of popular science reading activities from the perspective of readers,and constructs a theoretical framework of popularization of popular science reading activities of public libraries with readers,public libraries and perceived value(quality,service and cost)as the whole.This thesis investigates the popular science reading activities of public libraries from two perspectives.First,through the overall analysis of the cases of popular science reading case solicitation,summarizing the main body,object and characteristics of the popular science reading promotion activities of public libraries at the present stage,and divided the popular science reading promotion types into 6 kinds of two-way activities and 3 kinds of one-way activities.Second,based on the overall analysis results of the case,the questionnaire was designed from the perspective of readers' perceived value,and the following conclusions were drawn from the investigation and analysis of the popularization of popular science reading from the three dimensions of quality,service and cost :(a)Readers' reading time and interest in popular science reading were improved by participating in the popularization of popular science reading,so that readers could further study and apply popular science knowledge,and the effect of the activity was good;(b)Readers have a high evaluation of services and are most satisfied with the time arrangement and space environment,but there are still some deficiencies;(c)The journey cost and time cost to a certain extent affect the frequency of the reader to participate in activities,the shorter the time consuming,the closer distance readers participation enthusiasm is higher;(d)At present,readers‘ overall perceived value of popular science reading promotion activities is relatively high,and the activities have been recognized by readers.Finally,in order to improve the perceived value of readers as a starting point,the paper puts forward following suggestions for the public libraries:(a)Pay attention to the quality of popular science reading activities to improve readers' comprehensive reading ability;(b)Enhance readers' perceived value and improve the service quality of activities;(c)Save the readers' time,reduce the cost of expenditure.
