In the new media era,the function of agenda setting has been reversed.While the media set the public agenda,the focus of public opinion has often become the topic of the media.In the process of public opinion guidance for hot events,whether the media evade or respond effectively to the core issues of public opinion,whether the media use more scientific professional methods in the process of public opinion guidance,and the effect on the audience have become the criteria for judging whether the media can better guide public opinion in hot events.The introduction of this paper introduces the background and significance of this study,as well as the literature review of short videos,public opinion guidance and hot online events.Chapter two makes a comprehensive study of the media background and public opinion environment of the development of the "Situation" column,as well as the positioning and concept of the column.The second and the third chapters measure and analyze the contents and methods of public opinion guidance of network hot events from July 13,2017 to January 19,2018,and capture and analyze the effect of public opinion guidance with data software.Thus,a new way of disseminating public opinion in the "Situation" column and the way of using professional methods to guide public opinion have produced good results.Because of the analysis of the whole process of the guidance of public opinion in The Situation,the author also has a new understanding and Thinking on the method of the guidance of public opinion in the media,and draws a conclusion on the whole process of the guidance of public opinion in The Situation,which is shown in the forth chapter of this article.
