Radar is a device that uses electromagnetic waves to detect the position of targets, which is equivalent to the eyes of controllers in air traffic control.Xining THALES secondary surveillance radar is one of the important devices for qinghai atc sub-bureau of CAAC to implement radar control. The signal quality of the radar will directly affect aviation flight safety. The structure of secondary radar system and the surrounding environment of radar station affect the signal quality of radar and may form various jamming and false targets. In this paper, based on the principle of secondary radar, various jamming, false target formation reasons and theoretical suppression methods are briefly introduced. The design of monopulse secondary surveillance radar system itself has A certain inhibitory effect on jamming and false target, and radar response signal will also filter part of jamming in the process of forming point track and navigation track. At the same time, compared with traditional A/C mode,S mode of radar has A significant improvement in anti-jamming.But in the actual process of operation, there will still be interference and false target formation.Aiming at the two practical problems of THALES secondary radar at Xining airport: the false target caused by reflection and the track and predicted line sway caused by the station environment, this paper proposes the processing methods and solutions in radar system and ATC automation system. At the same time, mode interleaving mode in radar S mode is enabled to reduce interference and false target.Through theoretical analysis and practical application, the problems in radar operation of Xining airport are solved and improved.
