There are two types of assembly line in the LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)manufacturing industry factories: the equipment assembly line,which is the front end of the LCD manufacturing and module manufacturing,and the worker assembly line,which is the rear end of the module manufacturing.The main feature of the equipment line is that the production capacity is mainly dependent on the operation efficiency of the equipment,rather than the efficiency of the workers.Accordingly,waste in the production process is also concentrated in several of the equipment's six wastes(failure Loss,idling Loss,speed Loss).The assembly line of L company belongs to the equipment assembly line.the object of this paper is the equipment driving rate of the equipment assembly line of L company's G2-2F workshop.Using the method of lean six sigma,through five steps of "D"(Define),"M"(Measure),"A"(Analysis),"I"(Improve),"C"(Control),explore ways to improve the equipment driving rate.Firstly,we propose the research object and define the expectation target.Then we measure the initial datas of the assembly line and use the E-FMEA and the other tools to analyze these datas,and we clarify that the direction of improvement is to implement TPM.Then,MTBF is used as the monitoring index,and two control charts are used to monitor,analyze and improve the abnormal points in time,and finally we achieve the defined target." Analysis " and " Control " are the key contents of this paper.The tools used during the analysis phase include the causal diagram(fishbone diagram),the Cause & Effect Matrix(C & E Matrix),the Equipment's Failure Mode and Effects Analysis(E-FMEA).The key factors affecting the equipment driving rate are summed up from the six aspects of " human,machine,material,method,environment,measurement " while doing the factor analysis,so that we could filter out the core waste of the equipment assembly line,obtain the key input indicators,and identify the failure mode of high risk,find out the reason why the device driver rate is low step by step.In the control phase,the data collected in this paper is the three waste of limiting MTBF.The data collected spanned the second and third quarters of 2017(the first week of May to the first week of September).In this paper,Xbar-R control chart and Xbar-S control chart are used as monitoring tools to monitor the calculation results of MTBF for each weeks.Firstly,the MTBF of May is analyzed with Xbar-R control chart.Then,the data from early May to early September with Xbar-S control chart are continuously monitored,and the abnormal data points appearing in the control chart are investigated,the shortcomings of the improvement activities are reflected,and the application of the whole lean six sigma method is improved to improve the equipment driving rate.In conclusion,in the research of the promotion of the equipment driving rate of l company,this paper proposes the idea of using mtbf as the monitoring index,and finally achieves the expected goal in the improvement activities.Therefore,this research and improvement method can be used as reference to other enterprises in the industry to improve the equipment assembly line.
