As a modern advanced theory of integration with Lean Production and Six Sigma,Lean Six Sigma(LSS)matches the management team's urgent demand and becomes more popular in China.Firstly, this paper introduces the detail of Optical Network module production and preforms feasibility evaluation for LSS implementation on new product introduction process in company B.Secondly, this paper follows standard DMAIC process method of LSS to identify the problem(lead time, cycle time and process defect rate),define the goal and create the project plan based on the voice of customer.Refer to line balance method, build the safety stock, provide forecast and qualify the second source for key material to improve the lead time of materials. Then, use methods to improve the production cycle time, similar as motion analysis,cause-effect matrix, hypothesis test, design of experiment.Improve the recognition method for die bond process, optimize key process control parameters for wedge bond process, improve the manufacturability and increase the capacity for lid sealing process. Finally, team brain storming to improve the solder joint strength, optimize soldering pad on PCB and SMT process, follow POKA-YOKE rule to re-design the lid sealing fixture to improve the accuracy.Based on the analysis result, finalize the action plan to improve the lead time, cycle time and process defect rate. Finally, all the improvement results meet customer demand and satisfy customer with the standardization to keep this continuous improvement This paper provides a good example to prove the fasibility, usability and extendibility of LSS for new product introduction in Company B.In the meanwhile,it also provides a good reference for the peer manufacturing companies in China.
