The platforms which constructed in accordance with VPX specifications are stable,flexible and expandable,and would be widely used in the field of modern communication.The digital signal processing boards which determine the performance of platform is the most important part in a VPX communication system.Due to the deficiencies of commercial boards,a VPX digital signal processing board composed of ADSP TS201 and Kintex7 FPGA which is flexible,expandable,reliable and high performance is designed and implemented in this paper.The main contents of this article are listed as follows.1.In accordance with the demanders of implementation and VPX specifications,the kernel architecture constituted with two TS201 DSPs and a Kintex 7 FPGA is designed to develop schematic diagram in cooperation with peripheral equipment and accessory circuitry.2.Data transmission based on LinkPort and PCIe are developed after the implementation of hardware.A synchronous clock and static dual port synchronous RAMs are applied to adapt the deviation of transporting clock signal on the node of FPGA for transmission by LinkPorts.In order to simplify the implementation of PCIe Interface,the PCIe IP core and DMA Wrapper IP core are employed.Flexibility and security of board is improved by the application of remotely loading,which makes the board booted from a remote host computer.3.On the completion of board debugging in independent and VPX system environment,the simulation algorithm of OFDM signal is distributed and realized on the board as an application example,according to the features of TS201 and FPGA,in order to verify the performance of board and reflect excellence on processing digital signal with high computational complexity.According to the results of debugging and the application example,the system function for VPX platform and signal processing algorithm could be implement and realized on the board,due to stability of assistant system and high performance of data interfaces.The VPX board described in this paper is flexible,expandable,secure and high performance which was applied in a VPX platform.
