With the development of computer networks,network equipment and server equipment are also more and more.Real-time control of these equipment and services that are running,thus ensuring the system is stable,reliable,high-quality operation is the tasks and challenges facing the operation and maintenance engineers.In this thesis,Nagios is based on the introduction of open source software to build a network monitoring and management system,the main research Nagios plugin custom extensions,monitoring,centralized management profiles,monitoring data metrics visualization capabilities to quickly locate the point of failure function,diversification alarm notification,etc.,greatly improve the quality of service and network operation and maintenance engineers working efficiency.The main ideas and solutions are as follows:1)According to the actual situation of the company,it is designed and implemented based network monitoring and management system of Nagios.LAMP architecture of the system used is the most popular WEB framework,with a lightweight,free,cross-platform advantages of using Browser / Server technology,the core functionality of the system will focus on the server side,so that future extensions much easier,also simplifies subsequent upgrade and maintenance work.2)Research and analysis of open source software Nagios,NagiosQL,NagVis and Cacti respective functions,so that they are integrated into the same network monitoring and management system,rational use and play their respective advantages;3)Setting up and running the network monitoring and management system,in order to provide better services,utilizing SNMP protocol detection custom plugins,personalized custom services.For example: Monitor the percentage of CPU utilization Windows / Linux,the operation performed 3MMA judge trends CPU utilization percentage,to avoid abnormal alarm because the moment caused by high CPU utilization percentage,making the possibility of a significant reduction in false positives;monitoring CISCO switches percentage of CPU utilization,free memory pool utilization,interfaces inflow / outflow rate,configuration files and other data to monitor indicators,real-time understanding of the work of the state in which the switch,to maximize the protection of the company's internal network security and stable operation.
