Mass Storage In The Intelligent Network Management System Design And Realization

With the rapid development of Internet and the expansion of storage scale, there are more and more various storage elements. Each storage element has its own management system, which brings many difficulties for the management and maintenance of storage. For the purpose of improving the efficiency of storage management, it is necessary to build a uniform storage management system which can centralize all storage elements.Based on simple network management protocol (SNMP), a widely accepted computer network management protocol, together with Internet control message protocol (ICMP), this paper designs a network management system for TCP/IP network. This system based on B/S mode, SNMP protocol and MYSQL database technology. Several key implementing techniques including network topology discovery, performance inspecting, status monitoring and processing and alert analyzing, are studied. The methods, design steps and results are interpreted concurrently. Finally, SNMP including jobs in this paper are summarized and succeeding work with its difficulties and emphasis are put forward.
