Post-truth is defined as an adjective relating to circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than emotion appeals. The defining features of post-truth are that truth is secondary and emotion trumps fact.Based on literature review,in-depth interview and discourse analysis, the study summarizes the microscopic constructing of post-truth in Jiang Ge case, along with the analysis of the cause of truth becoming secondary, the process of emotion trumps fact, the process and audiences of truth alienation, and the role played by media.According to the study,post-truth was constructed in the resonance of audiences and media.Whenever anxious anomie occurred in the society, and credibility of media and government decreased, the public anxiety and suspicion would quickly increase to the point of vehemently uttering out their demands. As the fuse of post-truth ignites, audiences' appeals and stances become the social foundation of post-truth,which comes into being and gets enhanced through the resonance of media(the air blower and amplifier of constructing post-truth)and audiences.Secondly, though post-truth leads to the dissolution of consensus and the recombination of rights, its impact hasn't been constantly negative, for it can bring in a brand-new pattern of social power,in which the control of the government, the officials, and the privileged classes is on the decrease. On the other hand, the larger influence of the general public lay a foundation for dialogues on equal terms.Lastly, three countermeasures are proposed regarding post-truth:1)The media literacy must be improved for audiences.2)Media practitioners must stick to their faith in truth.3)Fundamental social solutions must be devised to recreate a new social consensus and achieve new social balance.
