The Study On Construction Of Chinese Institutional Repository Alliance

With the development of open access from the early 21st century,institutional repository has gradually become an important way to achieve open access.However,in areas where the institutional repository is well developed,they are faced with problems as follows:institutional repositories are decentralized;the visibility and utilization of the institutional repositories' information resources are low.And in areas where the level of institutional repository development is poor,they are also faced with constraints such as technology and funding.Institutional repository alliance has the advantages of sharing construction experiences,technology,capital,and manpower.It can rely on the alliance effect to make the information resources of a single institutional repository as a whole reveal and use it in a broaden accesses context.And it also has a positive effect on the reform of promoting open access movement along with scientific research interacting system.This thesis aims to explore the theoretical research and practical status between domestic and foreign institutional repository alliances.It takes the development model and construction model as a starting point.This thesis also proposes a suitable strategy for the development of Chinese institutional repository alliance,considering its actual situation,as a reference.The research method of this thesis is mainly based on network survey method and case analysis method,supplemented by analysis-induction method.First of all,on the basis of analyzing the theoretical research status of institutional repository alliances,the related theories of them are further explored.Secondly,it investigates and analyzes the current situation of Chinese institutional repository alliance's construction and development,and finds out the problems that exist within.Thirdly,through the research of three different foreign institutional repository alliances with different construction models,we can get systematic and learnable experience and inspiration.Finally,based on the analysis of theories and practice,combined with the actual situation in China,this thesis proposed the development strategy of Chinese institutional repository alliance-adapting to local conditions to adopt a suitable development model;adopt different construction modes at different levels;gradually improve the speed of construction by phases;in-depth development software platforms;provide diversified services;improve the development environment;strengthen the construction of information resources and perfect the operating mechanism,etc.,in order to help its construction.
