Research On Public's Information Seeking Behavior Under The Emergency Context

Nowadays,many emergencies such as natural disasters,accidents,disasters,public health events and public safety incidents have a great impact on the development and progress of human society.Emergent events are often characterized by abruptness,complexity,hazards and high degree of uncertainty.How to effectively prevent and respond to emergencies,strengthen emergency management,to minimize the impact of unexpected events on human society,is one of the current domestic and foreign focus and study field.In emergencies,the public emergency response capacity has a great impact on the overall emergency level,and the level of public emergency has gradually become an important factor in the government's emergency management.The research of public emergency information search behavior can understand the public's behavior mode and emergency level deeply,so as to optimize the whole government's emergency management level effectively.Firstly,the author summarizing the current research status of emergency information management and information search behavior at home and abroad,finding out the blank points of public emergency information search behavior in the context of emergencies,and determining the research direction.then,after analyzing relevant concepts such as emergencies,emergency information management,information search behavior and situation,etc.,the relevant theories of information search behavior research were systematically reviewed,which solidified the theoretical basis for subsequent research.Then,the author summarizes the process of emergency information search behavior: the motivation of emergency information search behavior,the activities and types of emergency information search behavior,and the way of emergency information search.Starting from the public's situation under emergencies,with the help of Wilson's information search model and the idea of runing situational model,the four emergency situation variables affecting the public information search behavior in emergency situations are analyzed and summarized.They are: Degree,information literacy,emergency information environment and reference standards.It is assumed that there is a positive correlation between emergency situation variables and emergency information search behavior.Then,using expert interviews and questionnaires,the questionnaire was divided into three parts: basic information investigation,influencing factors of emergency information search behavior and emergency information search behavior characteristics.In data analysis,the first step analyzes the basic features of the sample,the second step makes a difference analysis of the characteristics of information search behavior,and the third step uses the stepwise regression analysis to verify the proposed hypothesis.The results found that: Regardless of the personality characteristics of the public,there is a significant difference in the frequency of emergency information search for only education and education.Compared to the information search channels provided by traditional media,these new informal search channels of social media are popular search channels.Regarding the importance of information sources,most of the public believe that the authority of emergency information sources is the most important.Due to the practicality of emergency tasks,the availability of information sources ranks second in importance.Through the verification of the questionnaire data,the degree of problem perception,information literacy,emergency information environment and reference standards all influence the search behavior of emergency information and have a positive correlation effect.Finally,according to the research analysis and verification results of the public emergency information search behavior in the emergency situation,the existing problems are analyzed and specific suggestions are given.In order to improve the overall emergency level,the proposal includes two major aspects: 1.Strengthen the promotion and training of emergency information services 2.Improve the emergency information service system.
