Narrative Research Of The Drama-Style Reality Show

The blowout development of reality TV shows has caused a large amount of homogenized content to cause viewers' aesthetic fatigue.Reality shows are in a dilemma.So Mango TV launched the reality show “Who's the murderer” in 2016,combining the plot and show to break the narrative model of the traditional reality TV show.It can enhance the dramatic effect of the program,but also avoid the adverse effects of human operations,and has a reference value for the development direction of reality TV showsTaking the “Who's the murderer”as an example,this paper analyzes the narrative structure and skill through narrator Tzvetan Todorov's dichotomy of story and discourse.In terms of narrative structure,“Who's the murderer” built a complete story frame through “Start-against confrontation” through the “Three-act by Siddy Field” paradigm theory.It uses core events and subordinate events to echo each other,highlighting themes.In the shaping of characters,the personality characteristics of characters are made more real and full by the indefinite interpretation of stereotypical characters.At the same time,the program uses a combination of characters to highlight the contrast of different characters,form intricate character relationships,and strengthen the dramatic effects of the program.In terms of narrative skill,the combination of multiple narrative perspectives enriches the use of audiovisual means,and the later special effects of modernity make the programs more authentic and vivid.Through the paper,this article sums up three suggestions to drama-style reality show: First,the program expresses concern for social issues through theme setting,and cares for special social groups,which enhances the social value and educational significance of the program.Second,it should pay attention to the integration of real characters and story characters,and the balance between “drama setting” and “show”.Third,it should pay attention to the cultivation of the variety screenwriters and enhance the ability to create programs.
