Research On The Service Function Of Institutional Repository In Universities In China

The institutional knowledge base of institutions of higher learning is used as an infrastructure to support the academic research of universities,and it is also the backbone of scientific research personnel.The establishment of institutional knowledge base in institutions of higher learning can ensure the permanent preservation of digital materials such as teaching materials,long-term and comprehensive management of scientific information and other academic information among members of institutions,avoiding scattered academic information and ensuring the effective use of knowledge.Optimizing the service functions of institutions' knowledge bases in institutions of higher learning not only facilitates the effective management of digital information,but also enhances the user's sense of use,thereby promoting users' imperceptible propaganda and digital resource support.In the long term,it is beneficial to the institutional knowledge base.development of.The author conducted a questionnaire survey of 270 university users,combined with case studies,comparative studies,and other methods to systematically analyze the status quo,inadequacies,and problems of current institutional knowledge base service function construction,and summarized them..According to the author's first-hand survey data,and the analysis of the applied population and service face of the institutional knowledge base in colleges and universities,the author put forward a more systematic optimization program for the service functions of the university institutional knowledge base.With reference to the successful experiences of foreign institutional knowledge bases in advanced institutions and institutions with better service functions such as libraries,the author has constructed a service function system with a certain operability in the institutional knowledge base of institutions of higher learning,namely,core functions,extended functions,and personalized functions.Among them,the core functions of the university's institutional knowledge base include the achievement collection service function,academic search service function,and scientific research service function;the expansion function includes metadata service function and academic exchange service function;and the personalized function includes RSS service function and disciplinary service function.It is expected that through the above optimization plan,it will promote the improvement of the institutional knowledge base service function of universities and colleges,and promote users' understanding and utilization of institutional knowledge bases in institutions of higher learning.
