The Paper's Construction Of "New China"

For people,identity means identifying where they belong.For a country,identity means recognizing that it has the support of the domestic people and the recognition of the international community.During recent years,because of the rapid development of China's economy,many social problems appear frequently,which adversely affect the trust system of the whole society.The government's response to social problems is slow and opaque,and the public's recognition of the government is declining.At the same time,because of the increasing improvement of China's international status,the country's sovereignty,culture and other issues are increasingly affected by foreign countries.China's national identity crisis has been deepened by unfavorable conditions at home and abroad.On October 1,1949,the first military parade was held in Tiananmen Square,which indicated that the People's Republic of China was born.And at Tiananmen Square,nearly 300,000 people came to participate in the celebration.On the spot,through the means such as newspapers,radio made people of the whole country take part in the ceremony together,people cheered to the birth of new China,and expected the future of China filled with hope.The People's Daily newspaper,as the party's official newspaper,has carried out various reports on the "new China" for nearly 20 days before and after the ceremony,shaping the people's recognition of the new China.National identity was constructed,so how did the state shape people's approval of new China through newspapers when the new China was founded?This article selects the People's Daily reports on the "founding ceremony" as the research object,the sample ranges from September 22,1949 to October 10,1949,using the method of literature,content analysis and text analysis and so on.Which trys to figure out how to build the new China's national identity.The paper consists of five chapters:The first chapter is mainly about introduction,telling details about research background,research purpose,research methods and the importance,Also,it is about "national identity" concept,which includes the research results at home and abroad,furthermore,and the relationship between national identity in certain literature review.The second chapter is mainly about the core concepts and from theoretical perspective,explaining "identity","national identity","national identity construction","content and elements of national identity",The theory used is Framework Theory.The third chapter is about elites want to build what kind of New China,with the new democratic politics?economy and new culture.The fourth chapter is focused on analysis of the People's Daily,How newspaper try to build national identity,mainly from the construction of the people's national sentiment,the sense of belonging,the sense of loyalty,ideal feeling and sense of position this five aspects to shape public identification of the country.The fifth chapter is about why to construct such national identity.There are two main reasons for this.On one hand,in the early days after foundation of new China,the country is faced with many problems from economic,political and cultural aspects.Based on the solution of these problems,the Communist Party of China can show the public that they led the construction of new China and have the legitimacy.On the other hand,in the face of the declining traditional Confucian culture in China,new China needs to actively disseminate the new democratic culture and wins more people's support for new China?...
