Case Study On The Improvement Strategy Of Municipal Public Library Based On User Needs

As a regional cultural information service institution,the service category and function of public library has surpassed the traditional functions of reading,borrowing,collecting and so on.At the same time,users and readers also have more needs and expectations for public libraries.The public library should cater for the needs of users and readers.It also should improve the service level and quality of public libraries,and the satisfaction degree of users and readers.With the change of the information environment and the technical environment,the user's demand has also changed.In the service process of the library,it is very important to obtain and analyze the user's needs fully.As a cultural service institution,public libraries are experiencing major changes from paper resources to the whole media,from tradition to complex development.It needs continuous innovation to provide users with better services,complete the social functions of libraries,and realize the social value of libraries.This paper uses literature analysis,interview,questionnaire survey and data statistics and analysis to complete the research contents.First,with reading and studying the relevant literature on the service innovation and user needs of the library at home and abroad,it is found that the content of micro public library users is rarely studied,and the research about categories of users' needs are few.The Kano model and related theories can solve this problem.Secondly,after sorting out the contents of the related literature,an interview outline is set up,and 40 readers are interviewed.After sorting and extracting the content of the interview,the user needs items are obtained,and the final 34 user requirements are determined by the user needs items mentioned in the literature,and the Kano questionnaire is formed.Then,in the Baotou library,a field survey was conducted,and 200 readers were issued and recycled,and the collected data were processed and analyzed.Among the 34 user requirements,14 of them belonged to the necessary requirements,4 of them were expected and 19 belonged to the glamour demand.Finally,according to the different needs of users and the actual situation of Baotou library,different strategies of service upgrading are put forward.Based on the Kano model,this paper classifies the user needs of public libraries,develops the Kano model and its application fields,expands the research perspective of library users' needs,and enriches and perfects the theory system of public library service innovation based on user needs.It has a guiding significance for promoting the hierarchical development of library users'needs and enhancing the user service ability of public libraries.It will help the public library to give full play to the service function oriented by the user's demand,and also provide reference for the development of the public library with similar level of economic development and similar library scale.
