Voluntary service plays an important role in promoting the sustainable development of society and is an important symbol of the progress of social civilization.Voluntary archival service is a kind of public welfare activity that anyone can participate in the archives business without paying and voluntarily contributing to their personal time,energy,skills,knowledge and other disposable resources.It started earlier in America,developed more mature,and has entered a stage of normalization.China,however,started later and developed slowly,still in a initial stage of development.Therefore,this paper expounds the development history of voluntary archival service in both China and America,and summarizes the the time-bound raids,spatial localization,and call-to-action on recruitment in Chinese voluntary archival service,while America has continuity in time,spatial breadth and the normative characteristics of recruitment.Then compares and analyzes the project and content,personnel composition and recruitment way of Chinese and American voluntary archival service.On this basis,it puts forward three aspects from the implementation of advanced human based management concept,the promotion of leading online service projects,and the independent public welfare organization guarantee to learn from the experiences of American voluntary archival service,as well as from the positive change of ideas,the introduction of relevant policies of voluntary archival service and the establishment and improvement of the management of voluntary archival service so that it will promote the development of Chinese voluntary archival service,develop in the direction of ordering and normalization,and develop to a new level.
