Video surveillance system has been widely used in our daily life and industry production environment.For example,such application includes security protection,transportation surveillance,and national defensesupervision.However,due to the requirement of both communication system and local grid power supplies of current technology,notable safety and reliability risk do exist in certain environment.For example,traditional video surveillance systems may not able toprovide reliable information for rescue if local grid power has to be cut off when certain disaster like fire occurs.In this thesis,a video surveillance system equipped with remote arose and remote power supply is designed based on the research of plain telephone,network communication and xDSL wideband access technology.Such a system can provide efficient rescue navigation and secure life and production even when local power supply is failed.The key of this project is the high-performance communication platform with low-power consumption.In order to realize such ahigh-performance video surveillance system for harsh environment,the following technologies are researched and improved:the design ofhighpower efficient communication terminal,over-kilometer power distributionand symmetrically duplex high-bandwidth communication.Such a communication platform contains FPGA,MCU,and AD/DA module,providing Ethernet,USB,SD,and video camera interface,supporting multiple level of communication stack and high level application extentions.Besides the remote-powering video surveillance,such a system can also be used as a research and testing platform to support the study on communicationprotocol.This thesis also discusses means for remote power supply and communication,describes the process of designing hardware architecture and PCB of the terminal communication platform,introduces the experience of printed circuit boarddesign with Cadence,and analyses the main factors of system design.All of above are of considerable referential importance in the design of a communication platform.
