Relevant research shows that the research self-efficacy has a significant impact on postgraduates' research investment,academic publishing,academic passion and choices of occupation.Therefore,it is particularly important to improve postgraduates' research self-efficacy.In our country,the supervisors are responsible to the graduation education.But the study on the academic master's research self efficacy and how the supervisor influence the research self-efficacy is rare.By using content analysis method,questionnaire survey method,and interview method,this study mainly answers two issues: Which factors about supervisor support influence the research self-efficacy and the degree of influence of different factors.The results show that the supervisor system,the content of supervisor support and supervisor's leadership all have an effect on academic master's research self efficacy.From the supervior system,there is a lack of flexibility in the selection criteria for master's supervisors and the power and responsibility regulations are ambiguous.Mentorship mainly depends on personal experience.From the content of supervisor support,academic guidance,personal support,and career development guidance all have a positive impact on the students' research self-efficacy.Among them,personal support has the greatest impact.However,supervisors mainly provide academic guidance to students and ignore other students' needs.Male instructors performed poorly in personal support.Judging from the superviors leadership,when the supervrsors adopts the high-support and high-control leadership style,the students' research self-efficacy is significantly higher than other combinations.The study also finds that the matching degree of teachers and students in terms of gender,personality,research interest has little effect on research self-efficacy.Based on this,this study puts forward the following suggestions: from the perspective of the universities,the supervisor selection system should be perfected,the tutor management regulations should be refined,supervisor training should be carried out regularly;as for the supervisors,they should use a combination of high support and high control styles to give students more academic guidance,personal support,and career development guidance.
