The history poetry is a common type of the Chinese classic poetry,as well as of the Chinese textbook for middle and high school students.It,based on history events or stories,expresses the author's emotion of unfulfilled-ambitions,underappreciation,patriotism,and sarcasm of politics,etc.Though widely collected in the textbook,such poetry has not been comprehensively summarized for teaching.Current Chinese curriculum emphasizes the topic-oriented teaching and learning with mass topic/content teaching or reading class method etc.Such curriculum requires the form of class to be diverse in unity,which reflects the variety of teachers' role and the central place of students.On this ground,this paper will contain the analysis and summary of the form,characteristic and the teaching case of history poetries selected from the Compulsory Education Chinese Textbook compiled by Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China,and at the same time,induce the optimized path to teach the history poetry.The paper contains four sections.In the first section,the author introduces the purposes,contents,methods and current situation of the research.A summary of the teaching methods of the history poetry is included in the final part of the section.The second section contains the foundation and orientation of the research based on the analysis of the history poetry,including its definition,emergence and development,and a declaration of the history poetries collected in the Compulsory Education Chinese Textbook compiled by Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China,containing its classification and characteristics.The third section is a practice analysis of teaching the history poetry.Based on the inspiring experience from the analysis of three teaching cases,the author identifies the disadvantage of current teaching of the history poetry from the perspective of the teacher,the student,and the teaching instrument.In the final section,the teaching strategy of history poetry has been studied.And five strategies have been put forward:the combination of topic-oriented teaching and culture embodiment,the combination of intensive reading and skimming,the combination of comparative reading and independent studying,the combination of situational teaching and learning and teaching in entertainment,and the combination of teachers' teaching and students' practice.
