Chinese characters are the ‘treasure’ that should be fully utilized in international Chinese teaching.This paper is based on the general syllabus of international Chinese Teaching.The attached list of commonly used Chinese characters(level 1-3)covers 600 Chinese characters.The cultural situation behind these Chinese characters is classified and analyzed.On this basis,a questionnaire is designed,and the results are analyzed and summarized to provide suggestions for teaching practice and textbook compilation.This paper includes introduction and conclusion,which are divided into six parts:The first part of the introduction introduces the origin of the research,research status,research purposes and significance,as well as research methods and ideas.Through the literature review,we found that the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language attaches great importance to the research and teaching application of Chinese character culture,but the lack of a comprehensive study of the primary Chinese characters with cultural meaning in the relevant tables.The second part is to sort out the 600 Chinese characters with rich cultural meanings in the list of commonly used Chinese characters(level 1-3)attached to the general syllabus of international Chinese teaching,and analyze and classify them according to their cultural meanings.The third part carries out the questionnaire survey according to the analysis results.To understand the acquisition of Chinese culture by foreign students and analyze the results.The fourth part of the questionnaire survey results for specific teaching design,aimed at the application of Chinese cultural knowledge and theory in classroom teaching practice.The fifth part,based on the results of the questionnaire,summarizes the problems existing in the teaching of Chinese characters,and puts forward suggestions for the teaching of Chinese characters culture and the compilation of teaching materials.The sixth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the main points and conclusions of the paper,points out the shortcomings of the research,and looks forward to the role ofChinese character culture in Chinese character teaching.
