For a long time,the teaching of Chinese characters in the Chinese international education hasn’t been given due attention.This paper aims at providing a new ideas and inspiration to the teaching of Chinese characters in the international education of contemporary Chinese through the introduction and modification of marshmen word formation.Therefore,introducing the marshmen word formation has a strong demonstration significance which constitutes the first part of this paper.Under the overall thinking of the teaching of Chinese characters Marshmen mainly resolve Chinese characters from the "sensory and visual", "characteristics" and "action".The second part of this article mainly introduces the general situation of the teaching of Chinese characters at home and abroad to make the academic circle clearly aware of the lack of research on the teaching of Chinese characters.The teaching of Chinese characters is still in a very simple stage which is the level of “stroke parts”,and sometimes which is even more primitive.In order to simplify a lot of teaching materials are often combined the reaching of Chinese characters and vocabulary.In the third part, the author made a correction in principle on Marshman word formation.We should follow the principle of the time when the component is evaluated to the Chinese character:We mainly divide characters into parts by the origin and meaning of the component.If the meaning of the component is not obvious we could divide it by the original meaning of Chinese characters combined with the "six categories of Chinese characters".The structure and significance of traditional Chinese characters should be taken into account in the classification too.This method can almost cover all the Chinese characters and components of HSK and the difficulty of teaching Chinese characters is greatly reduced.Under the guidance of this principle, in the fourth part the author introduce how to teaching students in detail and explain the problems which should be paid attention in the course of teaching.In particular, the Chinese character teaching method needs to correspond to the students’ Chinese level and the difficulty of teaching materials.In addition, this part also lists some errors of Chinese characters used to demonstrate the advantages of the Marshman word formation..In the last part,the author further summarizes the enlightenment of Marshman word formation to modern Chinese International Education of Chinese character teaching.Of course there has some negative effects in Marshman word formation:Such as sometimes it may increase the difficulty of learning Chinese characters,higher requirements for teachers,and the specific operation is somewhat complex.However, as long as we use it flexibly in the specific teaching, it will certainly play an important role in the teaching of Chinese characters and have a good effect.
