Objective(s):To explore the relationship between Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection and Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods:Medical check-up datas from 3053 physical examination participants in 2016 at First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were collected, including results of their blood testing, abdominal ultrasound examination and the 14C urea breath test(14C-UBT)for detection ofH.pylori.Participants were classified as NAFLD group and control group according to ultrasound examination.Multivariable analysis within the R Project was performed to analyze the relationship between H.pylori and NAFLD.Results:The whole incidence of H.pylori infection was 34.21%,and it was much higher in NAFLD group(41.43%)than the control group(31.00%).The differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).However,the colonization density of H.pylori had no significant difference in mild fatty liver group and moderate fatty liver group.Body mass index(BMI),Serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),uric acid(UA)?fasting plasma glucose(FPG),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and NAFLD fibrosis score(NFS)in NAFLD group were higher than which in control group, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)was lower in NAFLD group(p<0.05).In NAFLD group,Conclusion(s):H.pylori infection is associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The colonization density of H.pylori was not associated with the severity of NAFLD.
