Objective:To investigate the relationship between helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) and the elements of metabolic syndrome(MS),providing a scientific basis for the prevention and control of NAFLD and MS. Methods:Analysis datas from 3447 subjects who receive 13 C urea breath test to detect Hp and abdominal ultrasound examination from April to July 2015 in the physical examination center of Shanxi Province people’s hospital, using cross-sectional analysis methods. The subjects are divided into Hp negative group and and Hp positive group on the basis of 13 C urea breath test results, having 1742 and 1705 cases respectively. Unconditioned Logistic regression was used to analysis the relationship between Hp infection status and NAFLD and the components of metabolic syndrome. Results In male subjects, a higher uric acid(UA) level and a lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) level is observed in Hp positive group than Hp negatie group, In the female subjects, though a higher body mass index(BMI) level is observed in the Hp positive group, there is no medical value since this relationship is within a normal BMI level. In the present study, there is no significant difference in the prevalence of NAFLD, triglycerides(TG), total cholesterol(TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C) and fasting plasma glucose(FPG) level in both gender. Results:1.Of all the 3447 cases of physical examination subjects, check out 1354 cases of NAFLD patients(39.3%),1705 cases of Hp positive subjects(49.5%);2.In the male subjects,a higher uric acid(UA) level and a lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) level is observed in Hp positive group than Hp negatie group;3.In the female subjects,a higher body mass index(BMI) level is observed in the Hp positive group, however, this relationship is within a normal BMI level;4.In the present study, there is no significant difference in the prevalence of NAFLD, triglycerides(TG), total cholesterol(TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL- C) and fasting plasma glucose(FPG) level in both gender;5.There is no significant correlation between Hp infection and NAFLD. Conclusion:Helicobacter pylori infection may have an impact on UA and HDL- C level, but for NAFLD prevalence, BMI, TG, TC, LDL- C and FPG level, there is no significant correlation.
