ObjectiveWith the continuous deepening of the medical system reform,the development of non-public hospitals in China is growing rapidly,but on the whole they are still nnot strong.Therefore,it is particularly important to improve the management level of non-public hospitals.The management ability of the non-public hospital director directly affects the survival and development of non-public hospitals.Thus,this study intended to use exploratory factor analysis lto build 2a competency model of non-pubnclic hospital director,in order to form a set of criteria for selecting and employing non-public hospital director,and also help to evaluate talents scientifically and fairly,so as to further prolmote the development of non-public hospitals and enhance the competitiveness oi hospitals.Methods(1)Document research method:Based on theoretical research,through searchnin for relevant literature,this paper summarized the literature of domestic and foreign scholars on competency research,and analyzed their research methods and current situation at home and abroad.(2)Expert interview method:Non-public hospital directors and their subordinates,public hospital directors,health management experts and other personnel look part in an interview so as to investigate the competency element of non-public hospital director and compiled a competency dictionary of non-public hospital director.(3)Questionnaire survey method:According to the Competence Dictionary of Non-public hospital director,a questionnaire for evaluating the importance of competence of Non-public hospital director was compiled,in which the respondents scored several competency characteristics one by one.(4)Statistical analysis:This study constructed the competency model of non-public hospital director by exploratory factor analysis,and verifies the model by confirmatory factor analysis,so as to ensure the validity and reliability of the model,and f'urther provide support and guarantee for the future application of this model.Results(1)In total,450 questionnaires were distributed,of which 387 valid copies were recovered,with an effective recovery rate of 86%.(2)Through exploratory factor analysis,reliability and validity test and factor rotation,five common factors composed of 39 items were extracted including the capability of professional work management,individual trait,leadership,the capability of thinking and interpersonal communication skills.64.136%of the total variance was explained and the loading range is 0.484-0.967.(3)The results of'confirmatory factor analysis showed that RMR = 0.014,GFI =0.845,AGFI = 0.826,RMSEA = 0.049,NFI = 0.885,CFI = 0.941,IFI = 0.942,which indicated that the competency model of non-public hospital deans in this study had a good fit.Conclusion(1)The Competency Dictionary of non-public hospital director compiled in this study contains 39 competency items,which describes the competency of non-public hospital directors comprehensively.(2)The competency model of non-public hospital director constructed in this study includes five dimensions:the capability of professional work management,individual trait,leadership,the capability of thinking and interpersonal communication skills.There are 39 secondary indicators in these five dimensions.The model had reasonable design,high fitting degree,validity and reliability and had a certain practical significance,and can be applied to the recruitment and selection of talents in non-public hospital director,performance management and other work,so as to further promote the development of non-public hospitals and enhance the competitiveness of hospitals.
