Objective:The present situation of Uygur breastfeeding was investigated in southern area of Xinjiang.Including the general survey of maternal breastfeeding, knowledge of breastfeeding,self-efficacy and social support situation. To find out the factors influencing breastfeeding and study on the relationship between the various influencing factors. So as to promote breastfeeding behaviors in southern Xinjiang and to provide a scientific basis for developing intervention strategies and measures.Methods:1.In this study, convenience sampling method was used to study the population in Kashgar and Aksu areas in Xinjiang, and 792 mothers of 6-24 months infants were selected as the research objects.2.The data were collected by questionnaire, which included:general information questionnaire, knowledge questionnaire, attitude scale,self-efficacy scale and social support scale.3.Using Epi Data 3.1 software to set up database, double input data,The statistical description and analysis were carried out by using SPSS17.0 statistical software. The general situation of survey subjects, the knowledge, behavior of breastfeeding and breastfeeding self-efficacy were described by means, standard deviation; And two independent samples t-test,analysis of variance and?~2 test were used to analyze the actors affecting breastfeeding;Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between knowledge, belief and behavior; And multivariate conditional Logistic regression analysis and decision tree model analysis were used to find out the factors affecting breastfeeding and their interaction.Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the main factors affecting self-efficacy.Results:1.The average scores of breastfeeding knowledge,self-efficacy and social support of Uygur mothers in southern Xinjiang were(9.93±4.06),(105.94±30.65)and(40.78±9.27)respectively.2.6 months of exclusive breastfeeding rate was 35.5%,mixed feeding rate was 58.5%,and artificial feeding rate was 6.1%.3.Univariate analysis showed that age, professional status, family monthly income, maternity leave time, mode of delivery, times of delivery, lover's attitude towards breastfeeding, knowledge level of breastfeeding, attitude of breastfeeding behavior, social support and self-efficacy of breastfeeding had an effect on breastfeeding(P<0.05).4.Multivariate conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors of breastfeeding were family monthly income(OR=1.370)and mode of delivery(OR=1.429);the protective factors of breastfeeding were age(OR=0.646),times of delivery(OR=0.634),breastfeeding knowledge(OR=0.839)and self-efficacy(OR=0.976).5.The results of decision tree model analysis showed that self-efficacy was the most important factor in breastfeeding, and different self-efficacy levels were influenced by family monthly income, social support and breastfeeding knowledge(P<0.05).6.Breastfeeding self-efficacy was influenced by lover's attitude towards breastfeeding, knowledge of breastfeeding and attitude of breastfeeding behavior.(P<0.05).Conclusions:The maternal breastfeeding rate was at medium and low levels in southern of Xinjiang.Factors affecting breastfeeding include maternal age, monthly family income, and mode of delivery, times of delivery, social support, breastfeeding knowledge and self-efficacy.The most important factor was self-efficacy.In the future,we can start from the self-efficacy of breastfeeding to improve the mother's sense of self-efficacy so as to improve the breastfeeding rate.
