| Background: Breastfeeding is the best way to feed baby after birth.Breastfeeding attitude is an important factor in determining the mode of postpartum feeding.Positive breastfeeding attitudes have a positive effect, and factors affecting feeding attitudes are more uncertain. In order to investigate factors affecting maternal breastfeeding attitudes,we investigated the feeding patterns, maternal feeding attitudes, demographic data, social support, postpartum depression and general self-efficacy of maternal postpartum on the 3rd and 42 nd.We analyzed the attitudes affecting infant feeding factors. Objectives: 1.To describe the infant feeding attitude among post partum women on the 3rd and 42 nd after birth in Lanzhou and to identify its influencing factors;2.Describe the status of breastfeeding on the 3rd and 42 nd after birth in Lanzhou;3.Analysis of demographic data, breastfeeding related information, social support, postpartum depression and general self-efficacy on breastfeeding attitudes;4.The evaluation tool of breastfeeding attitude used in this study was applied to the clinic to enhance the awareness of maternal breastfeeding and increase the rate of exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: This study used a convenient sampling method to conduct a cross-sectional survey to 231 women who gave birth in the First Hospital of Lanzhou University and the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University from June to October in 2018,we investigated maternal demographic data and information of breastfeeding, using the simplified Chinese version of the Iowa Infant Feeding Attitude Scale(IIFAS),the Social Support Rating Scale, the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale and the General Self-Efficacy Scale were used to conduct a questionnaire survey and to collect feeding patterns on the 3rd and 42 nd postnatal days. The data were analyzed by SPSS22.0statistical software. The influencing factors of infant feeding attitude were analyzed by T test, analysis of variance,Person/Spearman correlation and multiple linear regression. Results: 1.The mean scores of IIFAS on the 3rd and 42 nd postnatal days were 59.14±4.16,59.82±4.69 respectively.2.The exclusively breastfeeding rate was 55.0% and 66.3% on the 3rd and 42 nd postnatal days, respectively. The attitudes of breastfeeding on the 3rd and 42 nd postnatal days were positively correlated with feeding patterns(r=0.232,0.213,P<0.05).4.Multiple linearregression analysis: expected breastfeeding duration, objective support, feeding style, maternal maternity leave and feeding attitude were positively correlated on the 3rd day postpartum(β=0.386,0.181,0.211,0.207,P<0.05);expected breastfeeding duration, social support, maternal maternity leave and feeding style were positively correlated with feeding attitude on the 42 nd postnatal day(β=0.222,0.142,0.150,0.162,P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS: The infant feeding attitude was in middle-high level in Lanzhou postpartum women.Exclusively breastfeeding rates in Lanzhou were still low.The higher the infant feeding attitude score, the more tendencies the maternal women take breastfeeding action. The main influencing factors of breastfeeding attitude were feeding patterns, maternal maternity leave, expected duration of breastfeeding, and social support. |
