Project schedule management is one of the important toptics in nine research fields of project management,whether the schedule is effectively controlled or not is the key factor to determine the success of the project.With the continuously development and improvement,Critical Chain Method(CCM)as advanced technology in recent years,regarding the constraint resource bottleneck and the whole system,the uncertainty caused by resource conflict in the management process can be effectively eliminated by setting buffer.This paper first introduces the basic content of project schedule management,by analyzing the shortcomings of traditional project schedule management methods,such as Critical Path Method and Program Evaluation and Review Technique,this paper illustrate the outstanding problems of traditional management methods,including insufficient information transmission and resource constraints.through the research of the CCM theory,the main advantages of this method in project practice are stated.Combined the management practice with Pre-Service Inspection(PSI)project of AP1000 Nuclear Power Plant(NPP)of G company,this paper deeply discusses and analyzes the organization,implementation and problems of the current PSI project schedule and fully demonstrates the necessity of applying CCM to the PSI project.Then,taking a domestic PSI project of NPP as an example,using work breakdown structure and consistency coefficient to calculate the benchmark time during project process,on the basis of determining the project's critical path,by arranging resource,balancing resource conflict and optimizing the project process,the identification of the critical chain for PSI project is realized,and the schedule is further optimized.Finally,the elastic coefficient method is used to set the project buffer,and illustrates the principle of setting the feedback buffer on the critical chain path.According to the research and practical application,it shows that the schedule management of the PSI for nuclear power plant project by using CCM gets good results,which significant shortening the duration and conforming to the schedule of project site,and has a good control over the key process,solves the problem which is difficult to control effectively in the past.In addition,based on the experience feedback and good practice in the process of schedule management of PSI project,feasible and reasonable suggestions are put forward through thinking.The research achievements of this paper are helpful to promote the application of the CCM in the field of PSI of nuclear power plant,and can be extended to practical application of other fields of nuclear power engineering projects.
