Much more enterprises value setting up strategy-oriented performance management system with the rapid changing of business environment inside and outside of enterprises.How to maintain advantages and competitiveness and deal with the complex market environment is an important issue facing some company with the ever intense competition and incompetent management within the company.Improving the performance management system is quite urgent due to the company’s rapid developing into a larger scale enterprise.By field survey and study of Company C,the current situation,problems and its causes of Company C’s performance management are analyzed and thus the objectives and principles of performance management are determined.With target decomposed,by using KPI(Key Performance Indicators)which is a widely used performance evaluation tool home and abroad,a new performance evaluation system which consists of performance evaluation indicators of three levels(Company level,Department level and Position level)are introduced.The weights of the indicators are determined by Analytic Hierarchy Process.Based on the above work,an comprehensive plan for implementing performance management system,including strategic map development,performance plan,performance evaluation,performance communication and feedback,application of performance evaluation results and safeguard measures for performance evaluation are introduced.The KPI system has been put into actual use within Company C,and the results show that the performance evaluation system is effective.A questionnaire regarding the effect of the new performance evaluation system is carried out and it is found that staff are more satisfied.Experiences are gained by implementing the system also serves as a reference to companies that is about to improve their performance management.
