Sichuan,lied in the southwest of China,has a long history.With the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression breaking out in 1937,a lot of colleges and universities relocated in the southwest region,which brought in lots of highly educated talents,promoting the rapid development of mathematics higher education.In terms of mathematics higher education study in war times,the study of the general situation of relocated colleges and universities,as well as their effect,significance and regionalism have been thoroughly studies,while the study of mathematics higher education has not been full touched yet.The relocated colleges and universities exerted different influence on the development of mathematics higher education.This thesis tries to study National Sichuan University,National Central University and National Wuhan University,with the first being a native university and the rest being relocated ones which exerted the greatest influence on Sichuan mathematics higher education.Therefore,this thesis tries to study curriculum design and curriculum implementation in the three universities during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.After a thorough study of higher education archives in Sichuan Library,Sichuan Achieves,Chongqing Library,Chongqing Achieves,and theses and treatises,this thesis tries to dig out the curriculum design in Department of Mathematics in war times from the following perspective: A.The general situation of Department of Mathematics in Sichuan colleges and universities during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.With the war breaking out,many colleges and universities relocated in Sichuan.This thesis mainly combs the number of native and relocated universities,and their category and their location,concluding that there were three native universities and eight relocated ones setting up Department of Mathematics.Therefore,the two representative relocated universities,National Central University and National Wuhan University,are selected to analyze the number of students enrolled,teacher resource and the impact of relocation.B.The curriculum design in Department of Mathematics in Sichuan colleges and universities during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.The thesis studies curriculum design duration,curriculum types,weekly hours,credit allocation,curriculum content in the National Sichuan University,National Wuhan University and National Central University,compared with national curriculum standards,concluding that the curricula of the three universities are rich in content and mainly focus on analytical courses.C.The curriculum implementation in Department of Mathematics in Sichuan colleges and universities during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.This thesis outlines teaching staff and the compilation of textbooks in Department of Mathematics in the three universities.Firstly,teachers' educational background,teaching university and overseas study experience are used to reflect the teacher resource of the three universities,so as to highlight the curriculum implementation in department of mathematic in Sichuan.Secondly,higher mathematics textbooks in the Republic of China are sorted out followed by the analysis of the general information of textbooks used by Department of Mathematics in the three universities.Finally,the future research directions are put forward based on the summary of the characteristics of curriculum design in the three universities.
