Study On The Flora And Resources Of Plants In Chenhedong Provincial Nature Reserve In Conghua Guangdong

Chenhedong Provincial Nature Reserve in Conghua Guangdong is the mother river of Guangzhou,located at Guangdong Pumped Storage Power Station,ranking no.1 in the world.The Nature Reserve belongs to subtropical climate,and its main protection object is the water conservation forest and rare and endangered plants and wild animals and its habitat.This paper aims to study the flora and resources of the protected areas.This paper aims to study the flora and resources of Nature Reserve,to provide scientific basis for scientific management and protection and rational utilization of wild plant resources.The main results are follows:Though a comprehensive survey,Chenhedong Nature Reserve has various plants in vascular plants,which including 1357 specious,belonging to 201 families and 740 genera.There are 72 fern plants,including 30 families and 47 genera.The gymnosperms have 20 species,including 9 families and 12 genera.There are 1265 angiosperms with 162 families and 681 genera.The taxonomic groups of the Nature Reserve occupy a certain position in Guangdong,China and the world flora.The dominant families which are more than 10 specious are Agrostidoideae,Compositae,Moraceae,Rubiaceae,Papilionaceae,Cyperaceae,Rosaceae,Bambusoideae,Orchidaceae,Lauraceae,Myrsinaceae,Theaceae,Acanthaceae,Euphorbiaceae,Rutaceae,Vitaceae,Melastomataceae,Verbenaceae,Aquifoliaceae,Ericaceae,Fagaceae;The predominant genera(specious number?10)are Ficus,Camellia,Bambusa,Llex,Castanopsis,Rhododendron,Eurya.Compared to neighboring regions,species richness of Nature Reserve are lower than Dinghu mountain National Nature Reserve,Qizhangmu Nature Reserve,Dawuling Nature Reserve,Gudou mountain Nature Reserve,but higher than Shitaimen Nature Reserve and Guanyin mountain Nature Reserve.The elements of the flora were complex and varied,the tropical elements were dominant and the flora was remarkably characterized by tropical zone.For areal types of families,80 families belonging to the tropical elements contributed 76.2% of the total families(excluding cosmopolitan ones).For areal types of genera,540 genera of the flora was divided into 15 distribution types and 13 distribution subtypes,395 genera belonging to the tropical genera contributed 73.05% of the total?Endemic to china has 4 genera and 6 speecies,they are Tutcheria,Acidosasa,Bretschneidera sinensis,Didymostigma in genera,and Bretschneidera sinensis,Tutcheria championi Nakai,Tutcheria greeniae Chun,Tutcheria microcarpa Dunn,Didymostigma W.T.Wang and Acidosasa breviclavata W.T.Lin in species.The species of the flora is rich,wild vascular plants occupy a certain position in Guangdong flora.The flora is mainly tropical,and the existence of endemic genera in China also shows the ancient and solitary nature of these endemic genera.Divided by characteristics of the phytocoenosium,the vegetation of the Nature Reserve has 4 vegetation types,15 groups and 16 clusters vertical stratification of communities is relatively conspicuous.Altitude below 600 m are evergreen coniferous forest(Pinus massoniana group and Pinus elliottii Engelm.group),altitude between 600 m and 1000 m are low hills with evergreen broad-leaved forest,altitude between 600 m and 1000 m are the montane elfin forest.Forest communities in this region are dominated by tropical and subtropical families,with an evergreen physiognomy.The forest community is rich and complex,the canopy density is high,dominant population is few and not prominent.The forest lack large buttesses and woody megalianas which are typical of tropical rain forest and ever lower subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest.The wild plant in the Nature Reserve are divided into five categories: Medicinal,Feeding,Food use,Industrial and Environmental Protection plants.There are 180 species of wild edible plants,386 species of industrial plants,638 medicinal plants,50 feed plants and 163 environmental plants.There are 10 species of national key protected wild plants in the Nature Reserve,more than 1/7 of key conservation plants of Guangdong Province.And here are 12 species of rare and endangered wild plant,more than 30% of rare and endangered wild plant of Guangdong Province.And 18 species of Orchidaceae are protected by the law of CITES.
