Floristic And Resources Study On The Seed Plants In Yunkaishan Nature Reserve

Yunkaishan Nature Reserve,between the tropical and the subtropical zone,is a transitional zone with various flora distribution. In this paper, The geographical at the level of family and genus were analyzed, respectively, the floristic characters and plant resources of seed plants in Yunkaishan Nature Reserve were also discussed. Meantime, the rare and endangered plants, the alien invasive plants and vegetation types were also investigated and discussed. The conclusions were mainly summarized as follows:1. Yunkaishan Nature Reserve is a transitional zone between Holarctic Kingdom and Paleotropical Kingdom, with distribution of antiquated origination and various flora in south China. There are 1765 species of seed plants belonging to 169 families and 768 gengra. Data analysis revealed that the families, such as Theacea, Fagaceae, Lauraceae, Myrsinaceae and Rubiaceae, could represent the local flora. The main areal patterns are tropical and subtropical,and some of the temperate elements also appear in the area.The Comparision of floristic similarity elucidated that the flora of seed plants in Yunkaishan is more closer to that in Guangzhou.2. Based on five statutory text of the description , There are 110 species rare and endangered plants , belonging to 63 genera and 28 families in Yunkaishan Nature Reserve.3. Based on the field survey and examination of specimen, we identified 1765 wild seed plants, belonging to 768 genera and 169 families, in Yunkaishan Nature Reserve. Statistical result shows that there are more than 800 medicinal plants, 140 timber plants, 180 edible plants, 84 oil-bearing plants, 118 fibrous plants,38 aromatic plants, 57 tannic plants, more than 100 ornamental plants, and 110 nectariferous plants in this area. The suggestion about sustainable utilization and conservation of the plant resources were also put forward.4. 6 vegetation types, 28 species of alien invasive plants belonging to 13 families and 23 genera were found in Yunkanshan Nature Reserve. The government should monitor the invasive status of these alien speices so as to prevent them from dispersing and causing ecology disaster in Yunkaishan.
