Tu Changwang's Study On The Practice Of Meteorological Science And Technology And Education

Tu Changwang(1906-1962),a native of Wuhan,Hubei Province,is one of the founders of modern meteorological science in China.He has made outstanding contributions to the development of meteorological industry in China.Tu Changwang began his research on meteorology at the University of London under the guidance of Sir Walker.Afterwards,he not only initiated research on China' s long-term weather forecast,but also conducted in-depth research on Chinese air masses and fronts.At the same time,he achieved breakthrough results in the research areas of China's climate and East Asia circulation.In the field of meteorological service construction,his work is planned and promoted mainly from the six directions:the specification settings of meteorological management institutions,the construction of meteorological stations,the planning of meteorological long view,the exchange of Meteorology and the meteorological education,the promotion of the meteorological education and the training of meteorological personnel.These work has raised the development of China's meteorological industry to a new height.This article sorts out the main threads of the three types of meteorological activities.It is mainly about the meteorological research activity in which "Science research is oriented toward business,business depends on scientific research","Meteorology in China cultivates outstanding meteorological staff',and meteorological communication activities "for the purpose of accelerating meteorological exchanges at home and abroad.”This article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter discusses the life experience of Tu Chang Wang and analyzes the origin of his career in meteorology.The second chapter summarizes the meteorological research achievements and the effect which made by these achievements to the future meteorological research.The third chapter discusses the efforts made by Tu Chang Wang on the cultivation of Chinese Meteorological personnel in the 30 years after returning home,which has made unique contribution to the rapid rise of China's meteorological industry.The fourth chapter studies the various meteorological technology exchange activities held by Tu Chang Wang,and also affirms its important value for theChina's meteorological science and technology modernization and internationalization.
