With the development of national comprehensive strength of China and the increasing of Chinese learners, the accesses of Chinese international education and communication need to catch up with times. MOOC, short of Massive Open Online Course, are causing a revolution in of learning and education, changing the tradition way of education mode for thousands of years. In this paper, a detailed description of the background and the development is shown. By comparison with traditional teaching methods and regular online courses, a reflection of the four characteristics comes out: large-scale, open, online and refinement, which also elaborates the advantages of MOOC at the beginning, processing, and the end of the course. Two important types of MOOC——cMOOC and xMOOC are different in teaching ideas and methods. By comparing we can know that xMOOC mode is more suitable for offering the language courses.Scholars have been exploring and innovating new ways to spread and teach Chinese internationally. MOOC language courses are continuing to improve and develop.Through the introduction of various types of languages Course, it can be referanced to Chinese language courses of MOOC. The practical application of Chinese MOOC is still less at present, some popular courses are introduced from the paper. These courses are constantly trying and improving for the development and expansion of Chinese MOOC courses as a conducted experimental exploration. A significant roll of MOOC is generated in the international promotion of Chinese language and teaching:solve the shortage of Chinese teachers resources, enhance the level of Chinese language teachers, innovative ways to spread Chinese culture, as well as to improve students’ learning efficiency. However, MOOC is also facing some challenges. From the aspects of education are concerned, changes in teaching theories, teaching skills,continuously improve of knowledge and the ability to adapt to changing network of curriculum; from the aspects of learners, learning ability, language skills, self-control is also required to be strengthen. Finally, suggestions are proposed considering with the characteristics of teaching Chinese as a second language, from the way they operate, syllabus, curriculum design and the interaction ways.MOOC is developing from a popular beginning, and controversial in the development process, are constantly subjected to the process in practice. Chinese MOOC course,as a new attempt to spread and teaching Chinese internationally, will bring us a different experience and a new perspective to the experts, teachers and students The main aim is to teach Chinese, learn Chinese, introduce Chinese culture around the world in a better way. However it is still a long way to go of international Chinese education. Although the study of this paper is relatively shallow, we can not cover all developments, we hope to it will be helpful for future study for researchers and scholars, to promote the sustainable development of Chinese international education.
