Reconstruction Of University Data Center Based On VMware Vsphere

As the cause of education in our countryand make the University towards large scale,and miscellaneous in the direction of development,the school data center is more difficult to deal with,most traditional university data center presented as single Server,the university information increasingly requires more Servers to support,maintain the normal operation of the university data center.The traditional university data center with the corresponding equipment and daily maintenance process cost is relatively high,but because each fraction of department Server makes the difference between various departments of the difficulty of information exchange is large,the utilization efficiency of information is relatively low.In order to solve the above problems,this paper introduces the virtualization technology,which is used to improve the flexibility and suppleness of the infrastructure,to achieve the integration of various platforms and sharing of physical resources,to improve the available efficiency of the physical resource,to reduce manpower cost and material cost in the maintenance and employment,and to improve the reliability,extendibility and security of the university data center.Then,we introduce the development general situation of university data center,and the trend of development and the building requirement are analyzed detailed.The role of virtualization technology in the building reformation of unversity data center is discussed deeply.The origin,development history and the classification of virtualization technology are introduced detailed.Also,the performance of virtualization technology is analyzed in the following.The virtualization tool which is named as VMware vSphere is analyzed and its application model is elaborated.In the following,we carry out the reformation of university data center using VMware vSphere and adjust the reformation scheme of the system resource.All the resources in the system will shape a hardware resource pool through the distribution and scheduling of VMware vCenter Server.And the vComputer is responsible for the computation of the architecture,the vStorage is responsible for the storage,the vNetwork is responsible for the networking and the EXS/EXSi provide the resource virtualization for the upper layers.All of these are used to realize the rational configuration of the hardware resources.Besides,we design the virtualization schemes for the Server,network devices and storage devices,which can improve the utilization efficiency.As well as,the high availability technologies,such as the online shift,resource pool,distributed resource scheduling are studied and designed.According to the requirements of planning,the ways to realize the various functional components and the realization method of high availability are designed according to the detailed data,and the independent management components are designed to achieve the objectives of system management planning.After the construction of university data center,the functions are validated.Firstly,we analyze and validate the utilization efficiency and resource consumption from the virtualization of Server,network and storage devices.The results indicate that in the building process of university data center,the three virtualization technologies has been utilized fully,which can improve the efficiency of system while the resource investment efficiency.Then,the performance is analyzed,which is evaluated from the occupancy of CPU,memory usage,network utilization and the disk I/O.The results indicate that the idle resources are utilized fully and the usage efficiency is improved significantly.We also discover that the data center has higher return rate of investment while is an important green and clean measure.Through the transformation of the data center,to realize the transformation of information center application virtualization technology better,can be achieved through the transformation of the hardware utilization efficiency,operation and maintenance is also reduced accordingly,at the same time through the virtual network,but also makes the whole operating system has better security and stability.Finally,we give a systemic summary and induce for the whole paper and give the realistic meaning of the virtualization of university data center from multiple angles.And we present the prospect of the future.
