Based On Vmware Vsphere Data Center Virtualization Construction Research Colleges And Universities

With the rapid development of the information technology in colleges and universities, there is a sharp increase in the number of application servers. The traditional data center is faced with the problems, such as complicated system administration, low availability of resources, low rate of return on investment, low IT adaptability, difficulties in security control and data backup, etc. How to adapt to the needs and changes of business, lower the cost, raise the IT efficiency will be the major problem to the colleges and universities.The aim of writing this thesis is to solve the problems mentioned above, making use of virtualization technology to help data centers in colleges and universities to deal with the challenges of basic facilities successfully. In the thesis, the developmental situation of data centers’virtualization is elaborated, the theory of which is also put into a detailed analysis. After the careful analysis of the needs of data centers’virtualization construction,"how to take advantage of VMware vSphere to realize the virtualized arrangement" is put more emphasis, thus to get the development scheme, suitable for the virtualization of data centers in colleges and universities, to promote the rate of sharing, to eliminate isolated island of information, and to remain the integrity and accuracy of data.Virtualization of data centers includes server virtualization, network virtualization and storage virtualization. Via the virtualization of servers, we can improve the availability, quicken the speed of arrangement, and make the administration and maintenance more convenient. And we can also take advantage of the VMotioh dynamic migration to promote service responsive capability. Via the virtualization of network, with the improvement in security and controllability among the virtualized networks, the basic architecture of the net can be optimized; the bandwidth and network speed can be raised; the investment cost on network will be lowered and the repeated construction will be avoided. By the virtualization of storage, we can enhance the availability of disks, quicken the recovery from failure, and share all kinds of data resources from different servers on the SAN, which can pave the road for future achievements in High Availability and Distributed Resource Scheduler.
