As the rapid development of smart mobile devices and wireless broadband networks,augmented reality(AR)which was born in the area of aircraft manufacturing has gradually applied in the field of book publishing,showing the advantages which the traditional books can not match,especially when it is used in the children's popular science books.At present,part of the publishing units in China have involved in the development and publishing of augmented reality children's popular science books and have achieved some results.But on the whole,the development and publishing of this kind of book in China is not optimistic.Firstly,many publishers just blindly follow suit and take the publishing of the book as a means of propaganda.Thus the quality of the book is poor,the phenomenon of product homogenization is serious,editing and production is still at the imitation stage.Secondly,restricted by technical bottlenecks,the reading experience of the book is not good enough.What's more,the market power of the book is weak,the degree of popularity is lowly and scale effect has not been formed.Therefore,to solve the problems existing in the process of developing and publishing of the augmented reality children's popular science books in China and achieve its greater economic and social value,related publishing units should implement targeted publishing strategies.In terms of book quality,we should focus on content creation and graphic design of the paper book,achieve the combination of creativity and practicality of the virtual content and improve the technical levels of editing and publishing.On the aspect of reading experience,we should create a multi-sensory reading experience and perfect the interactive designs.With regard of book marketing,we can offer free reading to attract readers,expand market power with the aid of celebrity effect and spring consumption by utilizing scene marketing.
