The Research Of Root-seeking Program Based On The New Historicism

Hugo once said that history is an echo of the past in the future and a reflex from the future on the past.We seek the past time so that we can know the future.The result of not knowing the history is likely to be lost in the torrent of informatization and materialization.People focus on the present and learn for fame and wealth,the lack of historical sense has become a problem that the public has to look at directly.The paper analyze “Where I'm Coming From”,the first star root-seeking reality show in China,with the perspective of the new historicism.The new historicism holds that image narration is one of the most important ways to construct history.This paper combined with narrative theory,makes a narrative analysis of the program from five aspects: narrative subject,narrative perspective,narrative strategy,narrative idea and narrative consciousness.The study found that the type of narrative subject in this program is rich.The narrative perspective is diverse and intertwined.The suspense is created deliberately and the drama conflict is arranged skillfully.The detail of the stories are captured and amplified.All these narrative strategies reflect the narrative characteristics of the new historicism.The idea of common narrative realizes the idea of devolving narrative rights to new historicism.Greatness in trivialness,shows the tension of historical narrative.It realizes the return of human in the historical narrative.The micro historical narrative dispels the mainstream macro narrative.What's more,the combination of reality show and documentary film has provided a new aesthetic meaning for the theme of history.The study also found that,influenced by the new historicism,“Where I'm Coming From” make some supplement even subversion in some historical conclusion.With the help of mass media,this program reconstruct the audience's historical memory in a certain degree.In this paper,with a strong sense of the new historicism,“Where I'm Coming From” program reflects the mass media's responsibility in history.The program is a program type a beneficial attempt on integration innovation,and the historical consciousness to reshape and powerful booster for historical change,it gives a new aesthetic cognition in history and root-seeking behavior.
