Design And Implementation Of Intelligent Wireless Remote Water Meter System With Control And Billing Function

With the progress of society and the rapid development of city construction and accelerating industrialization,“Smart City” has become a popular word in peoples’ mind.Although the user number of large-diameter water meter is not high,the large-diameter water meter brings many difficulties,especially on its examination,repair and management.If only depending on the inspectors examine and check it,the leakage of water and damage of water meter cannot be found immediately.So it is the key and difficult problem of water-supply enterprises that how to use effective ways to read the water meter and supervise the use of water.The main work done by this paper is as follows:(1)Analyzing the demand of remote water meter reading system.Firstly,based on the solution of remote water meter reading system of current CBD,fundamental functions of remote water meter reading system are given and the total structure of water meter reading system is built;Secondly,the basic principle of sensor of water meter reading system is introduced to illustrate the transmission mechanism of water meter reading system;Finally,the designation of water meter reading system’s software and hardware are given.(2)Remote water meter reading system owning proper transmission protocol and disaster recovery mechanism is proposed.Firstly,socket service is used to build the receiving part and the transmission part of the system.Secondly,due to the fact that the Single point of failure(SPOF)exist in the current water meter reading system,router of enterprise product series is loaded in front of water meter reading system server and proxy server is deployed in the paralleled way that the BAS/SR is deployed in telecom operators.Thus a disaster safeguard for link failure is constructed.(3)Construction of prototype system for water meter reading.Based on the theory mentioned above and Visual Basic.NET & Microsoft SQL Server 2005,the prototype system is offered to testify the function that proposed from demand analyze.The result shows that the fundamental functions such as accounting,user management,alarm detecting are fully achieved,which can improve the customer perception in a better way.In a word,based on the current designation of sensors of remote water meter reading system and the fundamental knowledge of GSM/GPRS,a remote water meter reading system owning proper transmission protocol and disaster recovery mechanism is proposed,and the corresponding prototype system is constructed and tested as well.
