Based On The Gprs Wireless Remote Meter Reading System Research And Design

At present the long-distance meter reading system mainly uses the wired communication mode, but the wired communication mode exist many problems like heavy line maintenance quantity, poor communication quality, high cost, inconvenient meter work and so on .Along with the development of wireless communication technology, wireless transmission with convenient communications connection and low cost compensates for wired communication shortage. This paper put forward and designed the long-distance meter reading system on the basis of GPRS wireless communication network.The long-distance meter reading system consists of data management center, data transmission terminal, concentrador, meter bus and gas meter. First, the paper has reviewed the development status of long-distance meter reading system, and has described the GPRS networks in detail. Second, the paper has researched and designed the overall solutions of long-distance meter reading system, and made the function of system. And then the paper has described the software and hardware of the data transmission terminal in detail. The paper has mainly introduced the design of the data center management software, introduced the design for the meter reading way module, terminal preference module, information management module and database management module,reports processing module, authority management module in detail. In the end, the paper has researched and designed the system's reliability.With the development of wireless communication technology and computer technology, the long-distance meter reading system based on the wireless network will become more and more mature. Many meter-reading system based on wired transmission will be replaced by wireless meter reading system. This system has very good prospects for development.
