| In the background of construction of smart grid, the PLC technology is using power carrier as its data transmission medium, the PLC meter reading system has a rapid development and promotion with the abilities of making full use of available resources, easy-connection, low cost reduction and free from environmental restriction. This text mainly designs an application project of the remote meter reading system based on the broadband PLC communication and the GPRS network under the circumstance of the new-build housing estate of DATONG electric company. We also put this system into practical use. This text analyses the characteristics of attenuation, interference and impedance of the PLC channel in theory and compares three modulation techniques——Narrow-band, SSC and OFDM of their merits and demerits. At last we adopt the OFDM modulation technique according to the physical truth of DATONG electric company.The remote centralize meter reading system is mainly made up of collector,concentrator and back-stage management. First of all the collector collects electro-data of the electric energy meter through the RS485port, secondly we send the data to the concentrator through the power line, at last thewireless transmission module which is in the concentrator transmits the data to the back-stage management through the GPRS network. The system's effect of the actual motion on the spot indicates that the centralize meter reading system which is combined with broadband PLC technique and GPRS network can work in the condition of the electric power marketing automation. The automatic meter reading can not only improve the efficiency and reduce the cost of the staff, but also strengthen the management of the power supply company and reduce the line loss and provide sealing electric. Furthermore, the application of broadband PLC circuit can also provide basis for the extending function of the system's connection to family broadband network. |
