| This paper mainly uses the content analysis method to study 518 articles about “the Belt and Road”coverage in the People ’s Daily in the 2015-2016 period,and set up nine categories such as reporting fields,reporting topics,reporting areas,reporting bodies,sources etc,from the two aspects of "what to say" and "how to say".The study argues that “the Belt and Road”coverage framework in the People ’s Daily focuses on political and economic reports,political achievements reports,international reports,government activities reports,and sources are mainly from government officials.Those are fully positive or neutral reports,basic balance of report genre,layout location,and coverage.The study shows that the reason of forming coverage framework in the People ’s Daily is the active choice of the nature and positioning of the party newspaper and the inevitable result of media communication bias,and the audience demands of "usage and satisfaction",media reporters "stereotypes".The specific suggestions are: to create a good public opinion environment,to serve the national strategy,to promote the “the Belt and Road”;to broaden coverage areas and scope,to meet our masses’ information needs on“the Belt and Road”coverage;to innovate report entry point,to cultivate the international consciousness of the masses;to change the thought of news reporting,and to strive to improve the quality of“the Belt and Road” news coverage. |
