In the university education system,the role of curriculum is self-evident,it is directly related to the quality of teaching.Teaching activity and the cultivation of professional talents are difficult to develop without perfect curriculum.After nearly a hundred years of development,journalism in China has been an independent and mature subject,with a stable foundation of the discipline,as well as many professional and technical personnel,and today still maintained a strong vitality.Especially in the past three decades,all kinds of institutions in China have set up journalism and related courses,the number of journalism students is a significant increase.Behind the development,there are some worries.Especially in recent years,the quality of university journalism professional education is questioned constantly.Many people think that today's university journalism education is still of many loopholes and deficiencies,which directly leads to the imbalance of teaching and employment needs,and the situation of a steady decrease of professional level of journalism team.Meanwhile journalism graduates are still faced with the status of employment difficulties.In this awkward background,many academics and scholars,began to study the journalism in western universities,trying to observe and analyze,from which to find experience that can make use of.In addition,based on the actual situation of China,especially the rapid development of the Internet and new media,it has become to the trends of the reform of journalism that we should take advantage of new trends,put forward higher requirements for the development of university journalism in our country.To find out the reasons,the author will start from the perspective of the curriculum of college journalism.The author try to find the crux of the problem,by doing data collection and analysis on the teaching situation of journalism in China and American universities to reaching the goal of providing some feasible recommendations for the curriculum reform of journalism,through comparing and refinement.
