It has become a trend that sensor towards digital, intelligent and networked development. Fieldbus technology has promoted the development of sensor network, and it also faces the questions of standardization and compatibility at the same time. To solve this trouble,the IEEE and NIST formulate the IEEE 1451 sensor and actuator smart transducer interface standards in time. The standards provide a new way to solve the problem of fieldbus standardization, and the design of sensor has nothing to do with the fieldbus. It avoids the problems which the fieldbus uniformization brings of the interests dispute from all parties and technical difficulties.This paper sets up a general framework for the STIM+NCAP based on the protocol of IEEE1451.2, and uses TMS320F28335 and STM32F103RCT6 processor as the core to the development and implementation of hardware and software, and extends the peripheral hardware circuit. It mainly implements the sensor plug-and-play, the construction of calibration engine and embedded Web server. The sensor plug-and-play adopts TEDS technology,which configures the interface and structure that meets the needs of IEEE 1451, and then makes the NCAP identify the TEDS which connected STIM and load automatically.Building the calibration engine is mainly to realize the intelligent features of sensors, and in this paper, the form of classification matrix form is derived from the calibration engine polynomial, and then saves the storage of TEDS. Meanwhile, combining the theory of nonlinear partial least squares with smart sensor calibration and the regression equation is derived for multidimensional sensor modeling and calibration.The construction of the embedded Web server adopts browser-server mode, and uses its convenient interaction, simple operation and easy maintenance. In the embedded development environment, the Web server is constructed to collect data from sensors and manage them.Finally, an experiment is carried out to test and analysis the whole system. The weighing sensor is corrected which is based on the theory of curve fitting, and then configure the calibration TEDS. In the meantime,under the local area network, a network test is implemented, and the result proves that sensors can be controlled and accessed through the Internet.
