At present, intelligent sensors are not compatible because of multi-field bus. This will influence its development and application. Aiming at this question, IEEE sets down intelligent sensor interface standard—IEEE1451—for realizing transducer interface standardization.This paper implements the network capable application processor (NCAP) in smart sensor network nodes based on the research of IEEE1451 family standards. It outlines the smart sensor correlation technology and IEEE1451 serial standards, introduces IEEE1451 major functional modules and proposes the NCAP system design program in accordance with IEEE1451.2 standard after analyzed its definition of NCAP basic model. It takes AT91RM9200 as the core of the design of NCAP embedded hardware platform. To satisfy the demand of NCAP system, the embedded multitasking operation system Linux is collocated, clipped and compiled and transducer independent interface driver is designed conforming to IEEE1451.2 standard. In order to realize the sensor calibration, the IEEE1451.2 standard defined a correction engine. This paper has conducted researches to the IEEE1451.2 correction engine, and proposes the correction model establishment method.The design and realization of NCAP makes good interchangeability and interoperability of the sensors of different manufacturers, and realizes the repeatability and commonality of the communication processing module of smart sensor network nodes.
