Because of sensors'interface incompatibleness, National Institute of Standards and Technology and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers promulgated a series of IEEE1451 standards to achieve the smart sensor interface standardization under the condition of network last 1990s.These standards provide a common base to connect sensors to network.The IEEE1451 protocol is studied, especially the definition of the smart transducer interface module and the transducer electronic data sheet in IEEE1451.2. Based on the standard IEEE1451.2, we choose a suitable developing platform, including software and hardware and design a kind of network smart measurement system.This system contains three parts: one is Smart Transducer Interface Module (STIM), another is Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP), and the third one is data rectification module and network communication software. We choose mcu as the STIM kernel to achieve the control of ADC (DAC) converter and communication with NCAP, also the EEPROM TEDS storage is used to be a buffer of STIM and NCAP. NCAP side, we select DSP with reduced TCP/IP protocol stack to connect to the internet and covert its series ports from synchronous to asynchronous to communicate with PC via UART port. For Transducer Independent Interface (TII) realization, we configure DSP HPI port to GPIO and McBSP to SPI, so the smart transducer interface module is full compliant with IEEE1451.2 standard. In order to adapt the measurement system to special environment application, we use MC55 to achieve wireless network service.Data fusion and data rectification of smart sensor by ordinary least squares are discussed. This paper also designs embedded Web server and wireless network communication software, which can achieve remote data transmit, dynamic data storage and real-time waves display.
